This custom hand-painted Yuzen obi is created by craftsman Masashige Uenaka, who has over 30 years of experience in Kyoto’s traditional dyeing techniques. Each piece is carefully designed and dyed by hand, transforming your vision into a one-of-a-kind wearable artwork.
Clients can request motifs, colors, or themes, and the artist will work closely with you from sketch to completion. The obi is made from fine silk (chirimen or shiose) and embodies the timeless Japanese concept of “wearing a painting.”
